Why should we know more?

Say you have three alphabets A, B, C. How many 2 letter words can you make?

The answer is 9 (3x3). (AB, BC, CA, BA, CB, AC, AA, BB, CC).

If you knew one more alphabet, say D, you could now make 16 words (4x4).

Just by knowing one more alphabet, you can now do 7 more arrangements to create new words. Knowledge and ideas are no different. With knowledge of 10 things, you can do more permutations to create new ideas than you can do with knowledge of 5 things.  And in most cases of our lives, the appearance of ideas aren't deliberate, they just appear seemingly from nowhere disrespecting space and time. But only if we have the necessary tools (knowledge) to work on those ideas, we won't be able to identify them. For example, one day you are walking and you saw a car. Suddenly you got the question: if I run fast I will run my engine for a lower span of time but at a higher fuel rate. If I go slow fuel rate is low but I have to run the engine for a long period of time. So then what is the optimum speed to have the best fuel usage?  But if you don't know about the great tool called calculus, most probably you will think and smile and then go on with the next thought. Gathering knowledge is the tool collection activity for upcoming problems. You never know when the ideas will come, so be ready with your tools.

You see a new mobile phone. The first thing you notice is its looks. Next is its manufacturer. And if you are a little more informed then it's specs. If you happen to be an engineer then you may think of its software and hardware, immediately a small video of how tiny things inside it works may run in your imagination.  If you are a scientist you may start thinking of different ways you can use it in an experiment. If you are a businessman then on how secure data is in it. The point is, even though the same thing is observed, what runs in each of the human's brain depends on the set of knowledge he/she has. The more you know, the more you get to think about and the lesser you are prone to boredom because boredom happens when the same thought keeps running in the loop.

Every feeling we get, pain, suffering, happiness, sadness, love, is experienced within our consciousness. We all are kinda living in a closed room experiencing the outside world from the window. No matter how much we clean up the outside, unless the interior is pretty, it's always gonna stink here. Our thoughts are the life we experience, they form the canvas on which life is painted. Unless the canvas is rich, no masterpiece is gonna come out of it. Then how to make it rich? by enriching it with as much of knowledge as we can.
